Nursery World Show 2024: Famly – 'Let's talk early years and why do we gather'?

Monday, November 27, 2023

It’s almost time. In just a handful of months, we’ll be gathering under that famous glass ceiling once more – and this time with added spice.

Famly – looking forward to to welcoming exhibition visitors.
Famly – looking forward to to welcoming exhibition visitors.

For the very first time at the Nursery World Show, Famly is launching 'Let's Talk Early Years' together with Nursery World, a brand new live stage that will be the new spot for our Famly Fireside Chats.

It’ll be like Jeremy Paxman meets Graham Norton – but y’know, even cuddlier. We’ll be running one-to-one interviews with the best minds in early years, all for free, all in front of a live audience (psst: that audience could include you).

Following what might best be called A Bit Of A Rough Start To The Decade, we have all learned just how important it is to come together again in real space. The Nursery World Show is the very best very best event out there to help us do just that. Exciting new exhibitors (this year I am getting me one of those roadmap carpets), awesome free talks, and some of the best seminars you can find this side of TED. It's the one event on my calendar that I always look forward to, a chance to meet friends old and new, and to engage in proper serious discussions about the future of early years education.

And the line-up this year really is nothing short of amazing. While I may have my own responsibilities at the Famly booth, there are some sessions that are just too good to miss. I'll be doing whatever I can to sneak away and catch Alice Sharp's dynamic show (because what else can you call an Alice Sharp talk?), Sue Allingham's fresh take on 'readiness,' and Sharon Colliles enlightening us all on the importance of taking it slow – to mention just a few. Ruth Swailes, Aaron Bradbury-Coffey, Cheryl Warren, David Wright, Jan Dubiel – the list just goes on and on!

Then you can head downstairs to the Let’s Talk Early Years Stage for a chance to get to know these amazing speakers on a whole other level.

I know that vulnerable, open conversations about what is going on in Early Years, and the chance for you to put questions to those speakers, is pivotal in shaping the future of early years education.

It’s not just another ‘free stage’ with wishy washy content; it's a platform to celebrate the importance of dialogue and collaboration within the sector. We'll be bringing you face-to-face with some of the most influential figures in early years, giving you a chance to hear their insights, ask questions, and be part of the conversation.

So, whether you're a familiar face in the early years sector or someone just starting your journey, make sure to swing by our Family booth (look for the one with the balloons) to see what our Early Childhood Platform can do for you and get the low down on who is up next on the Let’s Talk Early Years stage. On our stand we have a cosy sofa waiting for you, the latest copy of the Early Years Observer, and even some fantastic prizes courtesy of our friends at Hope Education. It's going to be a one-of-a-kind Nursery World Show, and we can't wait to see you there!
